CYCLING GROUPS
These are organised jointly by either Arragons Cycles in Penrith or the Cycle Cafe
SATURDAY SOCIAL CYCLING
Meeting at the Cafe in Greystoke on a Saturday morning for a coffee around the below times and then off wherever it takes you - usually on road and depending on the weather
Please park your car in Greystoke village car park - 300 yds and ride up
The following email was sent out to those on the loop this week regarding this Saturday 7th June ride out - sent from 2 chaps from Hesket Newmarket ...a Steve Emery and another called

The forecast for this Saturday 7th is currently 19 degC 7 knot southerly wind - could be a nice day - Greystoke has an open air heated pool- pack costume !
Hello again folks
We are planning to meet and leave the Old Crown PHesket newmarket at 10.20 this Sat morning and cycle down to Greystoke Cycle Cafe. Arriving around approx 11.15-30 . After a drink etc we're planning a nice little detour back to Hesket Newmarket around Skelton etc making approx 25 miles in total. This return route gives a nice downhillish start and nice return flatish route with quiet roads.....hope to see you then .

Note from Annie ...there may be those who prefer to start and finish their ride from here ....in which case obviously the start here is as above if you're joining Steve's jaunt and then returning with whoever else doing the same .
LADIES CYCLING
We are currently contacting all those who have expressed an interest in Ladies Cycling Groups. These will probably run on a Saturday from the Cycle Cafe and midweek - possibly Wednesdays from the Cafe or Arragons depending on preference. These are runs designed to encourage more people to get out cycling so don't feel you wont be able to keep up ...just come along and see how you go ..there are plenty of routes from the cafe which are fairly flat and quiet - and if you don't try you'll never know ...it could be easier than you think ! .
MOUNTAIN BIKING
This happens on a Tuesday evening and is organised by Phil from Arragons
FAMILY CYCLING
If you're a keen cyclist yourself but are wondering just how to enthuse any younger members of your family - then maybe the way forward is letting them ride with you and with other kids of similar age. They may even not notice the gradients as they make new friends and become accustomed to the rules of the road under your own safe guidance. It seems Saturday is a popular day and the 2nd Sunday of the month aswell , when the cafe is open . There are some lovely circular routes around neighbouring villages and a swim at Greystoke Pool at the end would be a fitting reward .
